Domestic Listed Buildings

Blackpool Library Sash Window Refurbishment

Listed Buildings are those buildings which are considered to be of special architectural or historic interest, and are included on a national list published by Historic England. A building must be more than 30 years old and meet certain criteria to be eligible for inclusion on this statutory list.

Most often, buildings built before 1700 or between 1700 to 1850, which are in similar condition to when they were originally constructed. are likely to be listed. Buildings that are 30 or less years old are not normally considered to be of special architectural or historic interest due to not yet standing the test of time.

The Council has a statutory duty to regulate demolitions or alterations to listed buildings. It also gives special consideration to the impact of any proposed development in the vicinity of a listed building and considers listed building issues in the preparation of local planning policy.

We can carry out sash window restoration on domestic listed buildings, and have completed a number of projects on listed properties across the North West. Just check them out in our portfolio.
